Hello,
We are writing you to show some snapshops of our South Everett neighborhood. The street itself, (typicalworkingclasslane), has some lovely homes...maybe not luxurious or expensive, but generally well cared for. However, the plaza that fronts it has been a continual eyesore.
Recently, it has become even worse. These are some pictures that we took today. Note that one of the businesses using the garbage area is a butcher shop, and much of the garbage has meat drippings and remnants. Rats are running through the general area, and in the muggy weather there is an odd smell. Note also that there are proper garbage receptacles available, but apparently not in use.
We contacted the Snohomish County Health Department, and were told that these things go through a process, starting with written communication, to which the business has one week to respond. After that time, they "work with" them to clean things up. In the meantime, our residential neighborhood, full of hard working people, has to endure the stench, eyesore, filth, and vermin.
Thanks for your time,
The Gardeners.
